Great little trimmer for the price; extras less impressive, 25^th October 2007

The main thing is the trimmer, and it does it job beautifully. Slim, easy to hold and manoeuvre, and the comb has five settings: 3, 5, 7, 8, and 12 mm, which I found worked very nicely for me. Trimming was comfortable and easy, and I didn't get any irritation afterwards (although this may be because I promptly moisturised with aloe vera).

The shaver head is useless, but I didn't need that and only tried it out of curiosity. The heads are easily taken off and put on, but a bit fiddly to clean, and the cleaning brush isn't much use. The bag is hideous and much too large. The instruction leaflet could be a lot better, it gave the wrong diagram for using the trimmer and I had to ring the manufacturer to ascertain that the product is safe to use in the shower (it is, but it makes it really difficult to use, so don't bother). But for £10, the main thing is that this is a very nice trimmer!

The trimmer is pretty good, it definitely neatens everything up. However, if you plan to actually neaten up your bikini line, avoid this product. The "microfoil" head intended for a smooth finish doesn't work one jot. I feel a bit ripped off, personally, as I can't be the only person who wants to neaten up their bikini area as well as trim it. I'll probably be returning this product as it doesn't do what it states on the packaging. I recommend using the Remington WSF-3000 just because it can actually give a smooth finish, although it's not as dainty as the Bikini Trimmer so you won't get such a precise finish.

I'm not the type of person who will put myself through pain just to look good, so waxing and epilators are not for me. However I hate the annoying irritation and occasional ingrown hairs you get after wet shaving the bikini area, so I was on the look out for an alternative. I had tried a couple of other shavers and I was never that impressed by the results: the shave wasn't close enough or didn't have the required precision. Then I found this and thought it was worth a try. The trimmer is excellent. Trims nicely without any irritation and easy to use. The heads are easy to change and it cleans easily under the shower (but the brush is less good) but, as another reviewer commented, the foil shaver does not do the job. The best you can get is "stubble" (from the trimmer) because the foil shaver doesn't seem to remove much. I'll keep this shaver for the trimmer but it's back to the drawing board in order to find something that does both.

I bought this to replace an identical one I've been using for the last 6 years. Unfortunately this newer version is a lot poorer quality than the old one.

The plastic covering of the unit is now very cheap, the trimmer setting wheel is difficult to turn and every time I remove the safety guard it feels about to snap off.

The trimmer works well enough (although I've cut myself with it, something that never happened with the old one!), but the shaver attachment is terrible. It's not a close shave, just a stubbley mess that you have have to tidy up with a wet shave afterwards.

Can't see me keeping this one 6 years.
