I'm impressed.,

This is the first time I have ever owned and used an epilator and I must say, I was very pleased.
Like most of the other reviewers, I was a bit nervous about trying it once I turned it on and had a look at it! I do credit myself with a fairly high pain threshold and being used to waxing I thought I knew what to expect, however for the first couple of 'strokes' I wanted to cry like a baby!! It did sting - a bit like running a breadknife over your skin - but it did ease off as I got used to it.
Within about 20 minutes both my legs were hairfree and unlike waxing there was no mess to clear up. I think it's impossible to get 100% of the hairs in one go, but after a few days they will be long enough to get with a very quick wizz. So, overall, I think it's brilliant. My legs are smooth and hairfree without the time and mess of waxing or the constant shaving and stubble!
Just one downside to this one compared with the latest 7681 model is that it is not rechargable so you are restricted to using it near a plug.

Don't get confused...,

I haven't used this one, I bought the 7681, I'm sure this one is the same but doesn't come with the face or underarm attachment.
If you want the one from the advert (that's in the video), it's the other one.

Silky Smooth Legs with Silk Epil and TIPS ON USING,
25th August 2008
Review By Crafty Marie "mariej30" (Cambs)
I must have tried just about every form of hair removal going and the only methods which leave your legs wonderfully silky and smooth are waxing and epilating.
Waxing is a pain because not only is it expensive over time but can be messy too. Even the wax strips which are designed to be easier leave sticky bits on your legs which are a pain to remove and you do end up missing sections.
I started using an epilator a few years ago, just a basic one. This new one from Braun not only looks pretty with a pink, white and glitter (yes glitter) casing but does an amazing job.
Some people say epilating is painful. Well, please don't let that put you off. Firstly, I would say you may feel some minor discomfort (and I do mean minor) with your first few sessions. But to call it painful is way too strong - painful is tearing a ligament in your leg, having all 4 wisdom teeth removed and giving birth. So I don't think removing a few hairs counts as painful!
If someone thinks epilating is truly painful I would say that either they are in a very rare minority which cannot tolerate this type of hair removal or, more likely, they're not following the recommended guidelines.
Here's my tips to help you get gorgeous, hair-free legs:
1) Don't expect to remove all your hairs in one session! This is not a great idea as you need to get used to the sensation of epilating over a period of time. You're asking for trouble if you try and do it all at once.
2) Make sure your hairs are the recommended 2-5mm long - there's a reason why this is important as longer hairs can tangle a little in the mechanism and sting when removed. If your hairs are long, shave and wait a week to a week and a half before you start.
3) No go areas. I would advise that you start with your lower legs and stay away from your ankle hair and around the knees which both tend to be the more sensitive areas until you're used to epilating.
4) Use the free wipes which are included, before you begin as these really do help.
5) Start with the beginner head attachment on setting 1 which is slow. This is much better for newbies as it doesn't remove too many hairs in one go.
6) Pull your leg skin taut with one hand, and move the epilator smoothly up your leg with the other hand.
7) For any areas you can't epilate, use the shaver head instead. It's great to have this option as well especially for underarms which I wouldn't recommend you epilate - this area yes can sting some!
If you follow all that to start, you'll gently ease yourself into epilating and you should avoid any real discomfort.
Over weeks of regular use, you'll find your legs are silky smooth, stubble free and simply stunning.

Smooth and hairless legs!,

Review By Bookish "Jewels" (Devon, England)
I got this to replace my old epilator (the 'Philips Beauty'), so I had something to compare the Braun Silk Epil with.
(To anyone who has never used an epilator before: for the first couple of times you use it, IT HURTS! Someone else reviewing here has described it as feeling like you're running a serrated bread knife up and down your legs, and that's very accurate! It can also leave a pink rash for a few hours the first couple of times you use it. After the first couple of uses, I have found no rash and it doesn't hurt as much, if at all. It seems the skin gets used to it and doesn't react.)
In the first place, this Braun Silk-Epil feels light and easy to handle. It can be used for the legs, the under-arms and the bikini line. It has an epilator head, and a shaver head with a trimmer (?!).
I found the instructions a bit over-complicated and lengthy, but the actual epilator and attachments are user-friendly and largely pretty obvious, so I got down to using it very quickly.
They supply wipes that ensure your skin is oil free and clean before epilating.
The on-off switch is easy to operate with one hand, and the light - which I thought would be a silly gimmick - was very useful for spotting the finer, shorter hairs. It worked quickly and quite quietly, and took pretty much all the hairs out leaving my legs feeling smooth and looking good. I was very happy with the result: better than my Phillips, by far.
When the hairs do grow back again, they are soft because they haven't been cut, and so they don't scratch or look stubbly like they do if you shave your legs.
The epilator is so quick and easy to use I just run it over my legs every few days. I haven't used it for my under-arms, but I have used it for my bikini line and it was fine. It's important to make sure your skin is kept taut otherwise you could pinch it!
Overall, I was really impressed with this epilator. I don't like to give 5 stars unless I absolutely think the item deserves it - but I genuinely can't complain about anything!
Well done Braun!
